Teaching: Kids Classical Club

It is important to nurture creative expression within the next generation. I teach violin privately at home and online through zoom.

I began my own musical studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin(RIAM) at the age of 6. Having been taught through the Kodaly Method as a beginner and later through varying methods by many esteemed violin Professors, I soon adopted my own way of teaching. My approach is experimental, fun and creative, influenced by the Dalcroze Method, Alexander and Feldenkreis Techniques.

In 2018 I broadcast my own radio show 'Kids Classical Club’

This started as an outlet for children to learn about classical music in a fun and interactive way. By being a part of the local radio station, Liffey Sound FM, I was able to connect with my local community and workshop in schools around the area.

The programme included interviews with some of Ireland’s leading musicians, offered musical games and interactive exercises for the children and enhanced the children’s knowledge of the instruments of the orchestra.

I hope to continue this series into a larger initiative for children and develop a second series of Kids Classical Club radio show.

Do get in touch if you know any little musical helpers who would be interested in taking part.

The Buzzing Bumblebee:
What noise does a bumblebee make? Can you make this sound? Every time a new bee enters, try and make your buzzing louder! Getting louder is called a crescendo in musical terms.

Give it a go!
